Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF)
1. Introduction
Multi-core optic fiber is a new type of optic fiber with multiple independent cores in the common cladding area. According to the core spacing, it can be divided into large core distance multi-core fiber and small core distance multi-core fiber. The large core distance multi-core optic fiber does not produce optical wave coupling, and the optic fiber can improve the optical transmission density per unit area of the transmission line. Small core distance multi-core optic fiber can produce optical wave coupling due to the close distance between the cores. The double-core sensor or optical loop device developed based on this principle can be used in the field of optic fiber sensing.
